Every female got two Ovaries. These are internal reproductive organs. These have some specific functions, classified as Exocrine & Endocrine functions. Exocrine function of ovaries is to secrete ovum and Endocrine functionof ovaries is to secrete female hormone such as Oestrogen (also known as Estrogen), Progesterone etc. What is Polycystic Ovary?It is an endocrine disorder. It occurs to the woman of all races. In this disease, there is formation or cysts around the Ovary/ovaries. Cyst is sac filled with fluid. When there is formation of more than 10 cysts and having a diameter within 5 to 10 mm then it is called Polycystic Ovary. When numerous cysts are formed around the ovaries, the normal functions, especially the exocrine function becomes interrupted.
